The brief for this project was to produce prefabricated temporary living quarters for Australian Federal Police in Honiara, Solomon Islands. After fabrication, in Australia, the units would then be shipped across to Honiara for installation.
These units were to be made available for the Islanders, after they had fulfilled their function for the A.F.P. as a peacekeeping force, for housing.
The exercise included the master planning of the entire site. The units were then designed as portables which, when linked together would create buildings with a sense of scale, acoustic isolation, and fun through the use of colour.
